A little about Montessori…
Because we’d need a bigger website to tell you everything, here is the short version.
The Montessori method of teaching is based on scientific research and observations of Dr. Montessori (1870-1952) she was a pioneer of her time and was the first female Italian Doctor, philosopher and educator. She came to understand the inner nature of the child.
Montessori revolutionized what we know about how children learn. She uncovered the knowledge that children’s learning is specific to the developmental stage they are in. Traditional Montessori classrooms combine the ages, this is specific to the Montessori method our oldest students are role models and teachers to our younger students.
The Montessori approach to education provides children with many hands-on materials that were developed after years of observing children and how they learn. The materials are a pivotal component to the environment and aid in the ongoing building of knowledge.
Knowledge building and moving from success to success are instilled within the environment as is the ability to think creatively and outside of the box to experiment with and problem solve.
And, of course, the best way to learn more is to see it in action.
