What makes Julia Street Montessori School Special?
Your Child’s Development
We partner with each family to assist the child’s whole development into the person they are destined to become.
We compliment the Montessori philosophy by incorporating thematic units of study each month which include cultural, science and geography lessons, delving into subjects from Fall seasonal trees and apples to Artist studies like Henri Matisse.
Beautiful & Safe Setting
Our serene neighborhood location makes it a joy to drop your child off at each day.
Our school is housed in a renovated home with a welcoming, comfortable home away from home feel.
We also feel very safe having Claxton elementary across the way. We have locking doors that only teachers and parents have the code for.
Our individualized Kindergarten program includes small group learning, focusing on handwriting, reading development and comprehension, science and cultural activities.
We have an opportunity for collaborative learning and many group projects. We really dive a bit deeper into the materials and extended group projects.
Special field trips just for Kindergartners and end of the year celebration, graduation.
We are dedicated to service-learning and follow many of the United Nations holidays which we observe and link to service projects.
We partner with local organizations like Manna, Babies Need Bottoms and national organizations like Unicef and Charity Water.
We have a beautiful, natural playground.
There are many ways to have fun on our playground, the children enjoy our play structure, playing tag and digging in the dirt. We have lots of shade and space to run. We also have a sandbox, riding toys, rock area, and garden.
Volunteers and Ambassadors
We encourage parent volunteers if your family situation allows. Multiple opportunities exist, such as small group art projects, listening to student readers, helping to organize events, becoming a parent ambassador etc..
Led by a dedicated and passionate team, we love what we do and it shows.

We feel so lucky to have our son learning at Julia Street. The teachers are all phenomenal… kind and calm, knowledgeable, and passionate about teaching. The school’s philosophy is true to Maria Montessori’s vision of how a child should be embraced as a learner and they implement this philosophy in a way that nurtures each individual learner. I recommend this school at the highest level. We are so grateful to be a part of this community!
